My idea to shape the future of Mesa is...

Fiesta Lakes to Become New Valley Destination Hotspot -Mesa needs this now more than ever to drastically improve the Fiesta District.

Show the City of Mesa that you support this endeavor by clicking vote on the left and giving us all three of them right now.

Fiesta Lakes is a new concept on a property that was initially developed as a 9-hole executive golf course in 1978 in the expanding Fiesta area of Mesa, Arizona.
Fiesta Lakes will be the first of its kind to combine a casual American beach tapas restaurant and bar, ten sand volleyball courts, a par 29 executive golf course, 18-hole Disc golf course, driving range, 2 championship bocce ball courts, and other active outdoor sports into a fun and inviting atmosphere that will attract and serve as a destination location for many patrons throughout the Phoenix Metro area providing a relaxed and entertaining environment where people can have a different experience each night of the week, including a farmers market on Sunday mornings and a driving range that can host larger events throughout the year.

“Fiesta Lakes’ ten volleyball courts will provide year round access to the finest sand volleyball facilities in Arizona for individuals and teams to participate in leagues, tournaments and clinics. These professional grade courts will not only allow Fiesta Lakes to host the highest number of leagues and tournaments in Arizona, but will also offer flexibility to introduce other sports such as sand tennis, sand dodgeball, sand soccer, horseshoes, baggo, and other sand sports,” says Allen Alexander, Director, of The Sand Club and one of the co-founders of Fiesta Lakes.

While the schedule will differ by day and season, the Company expects seniors to generally participate during the morning hours, kids and teenagers in the afternoons after school, and adults to play in night leagues. Fiesta Lakes will have a sports participation opportunity for anybody that simply wants to stay fit and active and have a great time doing so.

“This will be a very cool transformative venue that can serve the community in multiple capacities. It serves as a kick-start to improving the aesthetics of the Fiesta District and offers not only golf, disc golf, sand sports like volleyball and beach tennis, but its driving range can accommodate festivals and larger events as well,” said Dan Konzen, President/CEO of Fiesta Lakes and one of its co-founders.

Just about ANYTHING would be better than the current blight that is Alma School and Southern. This sounds like a great idea if it can get funded.

I think this project is a good idea and would be a nice development for the Fiesta district. However, still think it is too little too late. The Fiesta Mall is failing. It has already lost too many of its primary anchor stores. The surrounding retail space is dilapidated as well. I propose a much larger scale project- replace the entire block containing the Fiesta Mall with a massive urban park to include everything here (except the golf course - keep the golf course where it is) and then some - an event plaza, a ferris wheel, baseball fields to replace those lost at Riverview park, etc. Then, redevelop the surrounding big box retail stores into multi-story mixed use development. This will require a massive expenditure by the city but will be much better for the local economy than the Cubs stadium because it will be active year round.

This venue is exactly what Mesa needs ! With its location and easy access they will be able to host such a variety of events PLUS just the regular restaurant and entertainment venue to help revive the area. This is such an amazing concept !

I like the idea of a multi-purpose locations, however the CAD video makes it look like there is alot more land than what there actually is. Are they looking to completely redo the golf course which would really increase the price. While the main building area can grow and the putting green could be replaced, you aren't going to want to lose all the parking unless you have other options.
