Bring in an Anchor store, LL Bean's is a destination store, if located near new rail, bringstraffic
LL Bean is a destination store, it would bring in traffic and other businesses wanting to be near it. The downtown would be upgraded and attract many new stores. If it is located near the new rail, its an attraction to people in other cities.

Use approval voting for all one-winner elections.
Approval voting allows voters to vote for more than one candidate, even for a one-winner election. It sounds strange at first, but it's actually a much better way to avoid spoiler effects and choose the candidate who best represents the most people.

We need an INDOOR pool!
I really wish we had an indoor pool; I am very susceptible to skin cancer from being in the sun, but I LOVE to swim!!

Riverview Park as Centerpiece for Wrigleyville West
With Riverview Park and golf course being redesigned into the Cubs' spring training facilities, make the public park on the corner the crown jewel of the development. It has the potential to be an outstanding public space with integration of the lake, shade, picnic areas, the playground, Wrigleyville West commercial areas, and the stadium. The park piece can drive the public interest in the rest of the development if it is done right.

The iMesa Steering Committee, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and the Transportation Advisory Board are considering a series of proposed park development projects and bike/pedestrian pathways for inclusion in a Capital Improvement Plan. Riverview Park is included in this plan. Join us at an upcoming community meeting or provide your feedback online. http://www.mesaaz.gov/parksrec/Parks_Development/default.aspx

charge small fee for those that dont keep there yard clean
alot of people just dont care about how there house looks like from the outside it makes the whole street look bad and "ghetto" so i say there should be a small fee every month to those who dont take care of there yards its good for the neighborhood and the city is making money and with that money they can put it to good use..

Transform Vacant Best Buy into an Educational Center
Former Best Buy Center- This center would be a perfect location for DeVry, Univ. of Phoenix or even overflow for MCC. New store fronts and remodeling of stores into classrooms would encourage students in the area to consider higher education. The former Best Buy store could be remodeled into an indoor sports facility or an administration office.

4 Hoops Basketball -- A revolutionary new basketball game aimed at making Mesa the home of the 4HB
Early development of 4 Hoops Basketball and 4HB leagues can help put Mesa on the international map as home of the 4-point shot, of game-changing basketball, and of sports innovation not seen since James Naismith invented the game of basketball 120 years ago. Simple new rules, simple to organize, and low cost to implement. Mesa could lead 4HB revolution easily with interest from local B&G Clubs, YMCA, Church Leagues and Parks and Rec. iMesa should at least take a look at my PowerPoint explaining 4HB and see if it's an idea worth pursuing. Mesa has nothing to lose and everything…

Localized Health Care Co-op for Small Businesses
Small businesses have a hard time providing health insurance and retaining talented employees. Utilize the local network of health providers to offer a local, affordable health plan that people and businesses can buy into. By cutting out third party insurers more money will go directly to the healthcare provider, reducing costs. This will have a positive economic impact, increase livability and could make Mesa a leader in fixing the US health care crisis.

Work with Police, Neighborhs, etc to establish program for bike rental and or free usage
Work with Police so that community may use the confiscated bikes (in storage). Have businesses along main streets work on the bikes (may even paint them to reflect business colors) and have these available to customers for rental or free use. Have businesses also install bike loops.

Adopt Fiesta District Signage & Boulevard Plantings
Consider adopting Fiesta District signage & boulevard plantings idea at other significant commercial/retail nodes within the city to create a unique sense of place. To avoid diluting the effect and to control expenses, the city should propose no more than about a half dozen of the most intense clusters of commerce.

Routew the new light rail around downtown at country club going 1 way down 1st street and the other down 1st ave, and joining back up at mesa Drive. This will preserve all the new businesses just starting up downtown, and allow for more development downtown and a better traffic situation there for the next 3 years.
